Counting the potatoes... I get asked about the title and I tell people that it's how we live our lives. Our children are autistic. In the early discovery of our first sons autism we would fry potatoes, one of the only things he would eat, but we would have to make sure all of his were the same size or he wouldn't eat. We called it counting the potatoes...

Fresh cookies
I thought I would bake cookies for the Sarah and the boys for breakfast. I fried some potatoes and scrambled in some eggs. The cookies come out of the oven to cool, and they look fine to me. Sarah and Logan both eat them and love them. Ian however spent 20 minutes telling me they weren't round enough, and he couldn't eat them unless they were "more round" I went into the baking drawer and found a canning lid.We put them over the cookies and made them round. He was happy they were round, but then decided he wanted toast instead. It was a good morning for him. Logan had a rough morning. He's in that "not sleeping much stage". Parents with autistic children know what I mean. He finally got ready and had another cookie. We lost his backpack but he didn't seem to mind. Life was good for him. We fed the goats, and he got on the bus.
